Movie Railroad is a delightful behind-the-scenes look at motion picture production on one of America’s most historic California rail lines, The Sierra Railroad. History comes to life as you experience authentic, turn-of-the-century trains and steam locomotives in action as they perform for the motion picture cameras. Also included is an entertaining look at several steam powered excursion trains that have operated over the line in recent years.

Movie Railroad Days was a special event held at Railtown 1897 to celebrate the special relationship that the Sierra Railroad has had with the motion picture business over the years. Celebrity look-alikes, Western music, movie set re-creations and special tours and excursions made for a great weekend of family entertainment. Join the fun as we ride the trains and enjoy the sites and sounds of railroading from the past at Railtown 1897.
